The folks at GoldDerby.com recently looked at some of the critically acclaimed kids flicks over the years that have been snubbed in both Best Picture and the best performance categories. From a 16-year-old Judy Garland in 'The Wizard of Oz' to an eight-year-old Justin Henry from 'Kramer and Kramer' losing to Melvyn Douglas in 1980, Oscar is certainly no stranger to shunning audience and critic favorites due to the youngsters on screen.
Obviously, this does not bode well for Martin Scorsese's 'Hugo.' And despite an early Oscar campaign for 'Deathly Hallows,' it appears the Academy ship has sailed for Harry and his friends. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until Feb. 26 for the 84th Academy Awards to find out if this trend continues.
