Today in news that you obviously assumed already existed: Paramount has reportedly sent around a press release proclaiming that 'Paranormal Activity 4' will hit theaters this coming fall.
According to the release (per STYD), "In 2012, Paramount's release slate highlights include 'World War Z,' a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation,' the next installment in the global franchise starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the 'Paranormal Activity' franchise, and 'The Dictator,' starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind 'Borat.'"
Exciting! Also, a no brainer. 'Paranormal Activity 3' earned over $200 million worldwide last year; combined the 'PA' series has grossed almost $600 million worldwide. Suffice it to say, this fourquel is the leader in the clubhouse for surest thing of 2012.
UPDATE: You can scratch that "reportedly" from the record. According to Deadline, Paramount has just set a October 19, 2012 release date for 'Paranormal Activity 4.' Hooray for quick, low-budget production schedules!
