The jukebox musical 'Rock of Ages' is one of the cheesiest and most fun Broadway shows around -- they sell 16 oz. cans of Coors Light, for crying out loud! -- so if fans had concerns about the big-screen, big-budget adaptation of the little-musical-that-could, they were probably warranted. (How often does Hollywood get something right?) Of course, those same concerns have likely been blown completely away following the first, second and tenth viewing of the new trailer for Adam Shankman's 'Rock of Ages.' Goodness! They built this city on rock and roll, Journey covers and what might be Tom Cruise's most-fun performance since 'Magnolia.'
What else to say about this besides COME OUT RIGHT THIS SECOND SO WE CAN ALL SEE IT AND ENJOY! 'Rock of Ages' is the story of a small-town girl (Julianne Hough) who comes to Los Angeles during the 1980s with stars in her eyes and winds up caught in a world of rock and roll. Suffice it to say, things don't go totally as planned -- which is what makes 'Rock of Ages' so great. Co-starring Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones (twirling the lady-version of an evil mustache to comical delight), Diego Boneta, Paul Giamatti, Malin Akerman, Mary J. Blige, Hough and Cruise, 'Rock of Ages' arrives in theaters on June 1, 2012. Don't stop believin'...
