Because you couldn't get away from this slow-news Monday without a bit of updating ("updating") from George Lucas on 'Indiana Jones 5,' here you go: the super-producer doesn't have a cemented idea for the fifth film, despite protestations by Steven Spielberg to the contrary. "Actually, I told him I didn't have it yet," Lucas told Vulture when asked about Spielberg's recent quotes that a concept for film five was decided upon
. "I told him about the story, but I really haven't found the MacGuffin yet. I mean, I know what it's about, but I just have to find a MacGuffin that fits into the arena we're working in." Translation: status quo!
Speaking about 'Indiana Jones 5,' Spielberg told EW
that it was "up to George. We have already agreed on the genre of the fifth movie, we already have a concept in mind. I don't know where George is with the story. There is no 'Indy 5' until George says there is."
Based on Lucas's recent comments, it sounds like there will be an 'Indy 5' ... eventually. Maybe. Probably. Aren't you looking forward to another few years of these updates?
