With anticipation for 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' running at fevered levels -- per a recent survey, the adaptation of Steig Larsson's international bestseller trails only 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows' in audience interest -- the hype machine for the Sony release is doing little to slow down. The studio is apparently planning special fan sneak previews of 'Dragon Tattoo' on Monday night at 10 p.m. in cities like New York, Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco and London, and -- as if that weren't enough -- a new David Fincher-directed video for the Karen O-Trent Reznor cover of Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' has debuted online. As you may have guessed, it's freaky, bizarre and completely awesome. Watch over at Pitchfork.
Fincher, as you probably recall, got his start directing music videos for artists ranging from Madonna and Billy Idol to Paula Abdul and George Michael. Reznor and Atticus Ross -- whose 'Social Network' score teaming won them an Oscar -- wrote the music for 'Dragon Tattoo,' which you can purchase digitally right now.
'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' is out in theaters on Dec. 21.
