CATEGORIES Movie NewsHorror franchises never really die, do they? According to Lionsgate Vice Chairman Michael Burns, the torture porn franchise 'Saw' could be making a return -- for the eighth time. In an interview with CNBC, Burns -- who was there to discuss the potential merger between Lionsgate and rival studio Summit -- revealed Lionsgate's upcoming slate of films, which may eventually include 'Saw.' "I'm sure, some day, you'll see 'Saw' back in the picture," said Burns.
The 'Saw' franchise has grossed almost a half-billion dollars domestically, so no surprise that the studio would be interested in another one. The last film, 'Saw 3D,' made $136 million worldwide.
