Since it opened in June, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Orlando has become a Mecca-like destination for fans. You can drink butterbeer! You can take a journey through Hogwarts Castle! You can ride a (fake) hippogriff! Alas, anything Potter-related is guaranteed to draw humongous crowds. Since it opened, the attraction has drawn a total of 2.8 million visitors with grosses over $300 million, which is why NBC Universal is set on building a brand-spanking new Wizarding World for West Coasters.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company will soon announce plans for a Wizarding World in Universal Studios Hollywood, which will likely resemble the one in Florida. That's right: two 'Harry Potter' theme parks! No word on when the park will begin production. Either way, if this new park is anything like the one in Orlando, we expect it to do big things.
