From Potter to poetry? According to Twitch, Daniel Radcliffe is set to play famous beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the upcoming movie 'Kill Your Darlings.' The film, written and directed by John Krokidas, revolves around the relationship between Ginsberg, author Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr. Jesse Eisenberg, Chris Evans and Ben Whishaw were originally attached to the roles of Ginsberg, Kerouac and Carr, but have since dropped out.

Earlier on Tuesday, MTV posted an interview with Radcliffe, where the actor spoke about trying his hand at poetry -- a story that makes a lot more sense now with the actor's Ginsberg casting. "I actually wrote a poem the other day for the first time in about eight months and I went, 'Ah, actually that's half decent.' Everything else I've written has been crap, but I wrote something the other day I was actually pleased with," he said.

'Kill Your Darlings' is set for a 2012 release.
