Former 'ER' co-stars George Clooney and Noah Wyle are -- according to a rather dubious report -- vying to portray Steve Jobs in an upcoming big-screen biopic. Wyle already played the late Apple co-founder in a 1999 TV movie, which led to him meeting the real Jobs (Wyle tells the tale in a 2009 interview), who then recruited the actor to impersonate him again at that year's MacWorld Expo. (See a clip here). Clooney, meanwhile, doesn't remotely resemble Jobs, and presumably has a dozen other projects on his plate anyway. The Sony biopic is based on Walter Isaacson's bestselling biography of the technology icon.
Wyle ably channeled Jobs in the TNT TV movie 'Pirates of Silicon Valley,' which co-starred Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates (see the trailer, below). The one-time Dr. John Carter is currently starring on TNT's sci-fi series, 'Falling Skies,' which will return for a second season in 2012.
