ZOMG, Bella and Edward are getting married! Their love has overcome all obstacles, and these two crazy kids (OK, one crazy kid and one sparkly old guy in a crazy kid's body) are finally gonna make the ultimate commitment in 'Breaking Dawn, Part 1.' To be followed, of course, by an extra-romantic super-sparkly honeymoon. Or not.
Yes, as everyone who's read the books knows, it's not exactly smooth sailing for Bella and Edward as they head off on their romantic retreat to the private island of Esme. Their starry-eyed honeymoon comes to an abrupt halt when Bella realizes there's a little monster kicking inside of her belly. That's right -- a little half-human, half-vampire bundle of joy. Since it's not your average fetus, Bella's pregnancy accelerates at a rapid rate, effectively serving as a major buzzkill for their honeymoon as Edward frets about the effects on Bella's body. They have to say goodbye to exotic Esme early and rush back to scenic Forks.
Bummer, huh? But theirs isn't the first movie honeymoon to go awry. In fact, movie honeymoons rarely go smoothly. Remember when Charlton Heston got totally sidetracked by work on his honeymoon in 'Touch of Evil'? It completely ruined their romantic getaway, and even put his lovely new bride (Janet Leigh) in danger!
Bella and Edward's preempted honeymoon got us thinking about other movie honeymoons that don't go as planned.

A Perfect Getaway
Nobody wants a psycho killer on the loose during a nice Hawaiian honeymoon! But that’s exactly what Cliff (Steve Zahn) and Cydney (Milla Jovovich) have to contend with on their not-so-perfect tropical getaway. (Not to mention a creepy Timothy Olyphant popping up everywhere.)

Zombie Honeymoon
Having your husband die and turn into a zombie on the first day of your honeymoon can be a major downer. Though Denise (Tracy Coogan) actually seems more upset when Danny (Graham Sibley) gives up his vegetarian ways than when she discovers he's been devouring their neighbors. Despite all of the blood and gore, this zombie flick is actually pretty sweet -- it's nice to see a zombie in love!

The Heartbreak Kid
There are a few lessons to be learned in this remake of the 1972 classic, with 'don’t rush into things' being foremost among them. When Eddie (Ben Stiller) realizes that his beautiful new bride Lila (Malin Akerman) is crazy while on their honeymoon, things start to go very badly for both of them. Especially when Eddie falls for another woman (Michelle Monaghan) -- and pursues her -- on his honeymoon! Major honeymoon faux pas. (I mean, come on. Even Kim & Kris made it through their honeymoon!)

Haunted Honeymoon
Life imitates art when two Mystery Theater stars (Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner) wind up on a mysterious honeymoon in a haunted house. Not exactly the charming getaway they had in mind, but as Mystery Theater stars they really should have known better than to book their wedding and honeymoon at a super creepy old mansion in the middle of nowhere. Nothing good ever goes down at super creepy old mansions.

Honeymoon in Vegas
Rich guys who don't take no for an answer really have a way of busting up romantic getaways, don't they? A year before Robert Redford made his indecent proposal to Demi and Woody, James Caan convinced a desperate Nicolas Cage to lend him his soon-to-be wife, Sarah Jessica Parker, for the weekend. Lending out your lady to a rich guy to erase a debt is a pretty good way to ruin your wedding weekend. Just sayin'.
