As if the critical drubbing of -- and audience-apathy toward -- 'Larry Crowne'
wasn't bad enough, now the Tom Hanks
film has been fined for reckless driving. According to The Hollywood Reporter
, the company distributing the film in Spain will have to pay 30,000 euros because the movie poster shows Hanks and co-star Julia Roberts
driving on a motorcycle without helmets. The fine is linked to a 1985 ruling that banned advertising that "encouraged poor driving habits."
To date, 'Larry Crowne' has earned just $1.8 million in Spain, or roughly 1.3 million euros. Overall, the film earned just over $50 million worldwide
