At this point in his career, David Lynch can pretty much do whatever he wants. Record an album? Sure. Start a nightclub in Paris? No problem. Film a commercial for Dom Perignon? Eh, why the hell not? The fact that the director is shooting a campaign for the champagne brand is actually a pretty amazing honor -- Lynch is only the second living artist (the other being Karl Lagerfeld) to film a commercial for them. While there's no word on when and where the spot will premiere, the folks over at Nowness have been nice enough to offer a sneak peak of what's to come.

In the behind-the-scenes video, which you can watch below, Lynch is shown wandering the grounds of the Abbey of Hautvillers, where the idea of Dom Perignon was first realized. Afterward, we see the director in a Los Angeles studio filming sparks, green lasers and fire, while he discusses the speed of light and mentions something about a rhinoceros. Yep, sounds like this commercial is going to be very Lynchian.
