"Michael Bay has an incredible eye for action and adrenaline-pumping movies, so it seemed natural to put him involved in creating this trailer," says 'Need for Speed: The Run' star Christina Hendricks in this new behind-the-scenes video. "It looks like the next big blockbuster movie of the summer." Out on Nov. 15, 'Need for Speed: The Run' is the eighteenth entry in the 'Need for Speed' video game series, though the only one that can claim a part of it was Bay-ified.
Mixing the cross-country racing aspect of 'The Cannonball Run' with the 'Fast and the Furious' franchise, 'Need for Speed: The Run' features break-neck video-game action and what editor Doug Brandt calls "hyper-realism." As such, it's a natural fit for Bay, who's helmed such massive action spectacles as 'The Rock,' 'Bad Boys,' 'Armageddon' and the 'Transformers' series.
"What's interesting about games is that they've taken the sound to such a level, they've upped their music, they've upped the acting quotient on these games," says Bay, referring to Hendricks ('Drive,' 'Mad Men'). "The lighting is getting better. I was very impressed with this 'Need for Speed' crew. They have a very filmic look to their stuff."
Don't take Bay's word for it; watch the behind-the-scenes video below, and check out the full trailer over at AOL.
