'Wrath of the Titans,' the sequel to 'Clash of the Titans,' doesn't come out until March 30, 2012, but that doesn't mean Warner Bros. can't plan ahead. The studio has hired Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson, co-screenwriters on 'Wrath,' to develop a treatment for a third 'Titans' film. THR reports the threequel would further the adventures of Perseus (Sam Worthington) and perhaps beef up the role of Agenor (Toby Kebbell). Jonathan Liebesman could possibly return as director, though whether any of this actually happens depend largely on the box office for 'Wrath.' The first film was a global hit in 2010, though derided by many because of its shoddy 3D conversion. [THR/Heat Vision]

Steve Carell, the busiest man in show business, has found a new director for one of his many maybe-happening projects. John Carney, who directed the lovely indie musical 'Once,' is in negotiations for 'Dogs of Babel,' a drama about a widower (Carell) who tries to get his dog to speak about his wife's death, since the canine was the only witness. 'Babel' is based on the novel by Carolyn Parkhurst. [LAT/24 Frames]

The awesome Stephanie Savage ('Gossip Girl') will adapt 'The Likeness' for Paramount, a novel about a young detective who goes undercover at an elite college to solve a murder. Sounds like 'Veronica Mars' and 'Never Been Kissed,' which means it will be amazing. [Deadline]
