Because the latest Harmony Korine movie isn't crazy enough, Variety reports that Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens are in negotiations to join Emma Roberts and James Franco in 'Spring Breakers.' The film follows a group of young ladies who are arrested after robbing a fast food restaurant to get money for their spring break plans; Franco plays the shady drug dealer who bails them out and convinces them to murder his rival. While that sounds like a major change of pace for someone like Gomez, Variety reports that Justin Bieber's better half will play a religious girl who's not inclined to seek thrills like her friends. Anyway, this is cuckoo bananas and will hopefully actually happen. Pause here to watch Gomez tear up "Super Bass," just because. [Variety]

Albert Brooks is getting some much-deserved Oscar buzz for his killer (ding!) performance in 'Drive,' and in a new interview with Collider he reveals just how many other meaty roles he almost played over the years. "I turned down so many parts. I couldn't even begin to tell you. 'Dead Poets Society' and 'Big' and 'Pretty Woman.' One part that I actually wanted to play, and I was in pre-production of my own movie, just because I thought I wanted to work with Paul [Thomas Anderson] was the part that Burt Reynolds got in 'Boogie Nights.' I liked that whole ensemble. When I read that script, I really liked it. But I couldn't stop, I couldn't shut down what I was doing. But, regrets are stupid; they don't mean anything and they don't add up to anything." No regrets, but: Albert Brooks in 'Boogie Nights' would have been amazing. [Collider]

Steve Carell attaches himself to seemingly everything (that's what she said?): Deadline reports he's planning to star in and produce 'Conviction,' a heist comedy about a master thief who, after serving five years in jail, must entrap his protege for the FBI. Per Deadline, the script initially had a tone similar to 'Heat,' but will now be more like '48 Hours' and 'Ocean's 11.' [Deadline]

Ben Kingsley, Julian Sands, Jena Malone and Michele Martin will star in an updated version of Henrik Ibsen's 'A Doll's House.' This and 'Girl With the Dragon Tatoo'? It's a Julian Sands comeback year, y'all! [Variety]
