It's unofficially Jo Nesbo week here at Moviefone! For the uninitiated, Nesbo is the Norwegian writer behind the Harry Hole series of novels that Martin Scorsese may (but probably won't) bring to the big-screen. He's also responsible for 'Headhunters,' a smash hit in his native country that's already the highest-grossing Norwegian film of all-time and could soon pass 'Harry Potter' to become the biggest hit in Norway this year.
'Headhunters,' about a headhunter trying to grab a valuable piece of artwork from a mercenary, is nearing 50 million Kroner according to THR, which roughly equals $9 million in U.S. currency. That's more than double 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' earned in Norway, and close to the $11 million earned by 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.' The film has already sold 535,000 tickets, 20,000 more than 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.'
If you haven't seen 'Headhunters' yet, don't worry: Summit Entertainment, the studio that brought you 'Twilight,' has picked up the remake rights.
