The alleged incident happened last week outside the Cinema Public House in Vancouver, where LaBeouf is filming 'The Company You Keep' opposite co-star and director Robert Redford. In the film -- which also features Anna Kendrick, Nick Nolte, Susan Sarandon, Terrence Howard, Brendan Gleeson, Julie Christie and Brit Marling -- the 25-year-old plays a reporter who stumbles upon the identity of a former Weather Underground activist.
LaBeouf has had his fair share of run-ins at bars in recent years, including one earlier this year in California that resulted in the star being placed in handcuffs. (No charges were filed.) He discussed that incident with Details this summer.
"I'm at a bar, trying to be with my friends and a dude comes up to me and says he wants a photograph, and I say no. Then he comes up with his girlfriend and says it's for her, and I say, 'Actually, I'm a little topsy-turvy, man. Can I not?' I would like to be George Clooney diplomatic. I just don't have the wherewithal yet or the inner serenity. My bullsh-t meter is tuned very sensitive. The minute it starts kicking up, I get back to truth, and sometimes that involves, you know, 'I don't want to take a picture.' And if that's the case, am I an as-hole for being honest? Or am I an as-hole for being dishonest, smiling in your picture and I fu-king hate being there? Which one is worse? These are the questions I ask myself that George Clooney doesn't ask. Then you go out to have a cigarette, and somebody comes at you."No word on what caused this Vancouver fight, but TMZ reports that it started inside the bar and LaBeouf and the unidentified man were ejected from the premises. Per the site, no one working at Cinema Public House noticed the fight, but employees did say that LaBeouf has been seen at the bar during his stay in Vancouver.
