'Slave' will be the third production that Fassbender and McQueen have worked on, following 2008's 'Hunger' -- about the 1981 Irish hunger strike -- and 'Shame,' which may be the most taboo movie of the year. At a post-screening press conference for 'Shame' last week, Fassbender said that he always wanted to have a relationship with a director, in the same way Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese have worked together so often. It looks like he's well on his way.
'Shame' arrives in limited release on Dec. 2 from Fox Searchlight. You can see Fassbender play Carl Jung in the non-McQueen movie, 'A Dangerous Method' (directed by David Cronenberg) when it hits theaters on Nov. 23.
