On Tuesday, a few eyebrow-raising quotes from Vanity Fair's cover story interview with Johnny Depp broke online. In addition to admitting he attended Scientology meetings when he was younger (he did it because they paid people $3 a session to go), the actor spoke about his aversion to photo shoots, comparing them to rape. "Well, you just feel like you're being raped somehow. Raped ... It feels like a kind of weird -- just weird," said Depp. After the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network criticized Depp's comments, the actor released an apology.

"I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way," Depp said in the statement. "I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling ... I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology."

Depp can next be seen in 'Rum Diary' on Oct. 28. The issue of Vanity Fair with Depp on the cover will hit newsstands soon.
