After the Tommy Lee Jones payout, Paramount was sued by Marathon Funding, an investor in the movie. The studio was trying to off-set the loss of the money from the Jones lawsuit, so they decided to charge Marathon $3.75 million. In turn, Marathon sued, claiming breach of fiduciary duty. The Marathon/Paramount lawsuit is currently in progress.
Looks like the only one who came out on top in this fiasco is Jones. Maybe Anton Chigurh was his lawyer.
