"It's not officially been moved toward," Paul Feig told me over the summer about the possibility of a 'Bridesmaids' sequel, "but I'd be very open to it. "It would just have to be as good or better than this one." Perhaps that worry is keeping Kristen Wiig from signing on for part two. Per 'Bridesmaids' co-star Jon Hamm, the co-writer and star of the summer smash isn't ready to hop onboard a potential sequel.
"I don't think Kristen is going to do it," Hamm told E! Online. "They need to lock [Wiig] up before me." So! Not exactly a ringing endorsement for a 'Bridesmaids 2,' but until Kristen Wiig confirms her disinterest, let's all hold a candlelight vigil in the hopes of it happening. As long as it's not like 'The Hangover Part II.'
Fans of Wiig and Hamm can catch the pair in 'Friends with Kids,' written and directed by Hamm's long-time girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, out next year.
