It's probably going to be a long, long time, but famed singer Elton John is readying a "biographical musical fantasy" with 'Billy Elliott' playwright Lee Hall about his life called 'Rocketman.' "[The film] will be a radically different kind of biopic," said producer Steve Hamilton Shaw to Deadline. "It will be as unique as Elton's life, told in a non-linear and hyper-visual manner that will transport people through the many intense experiences, some wonderful, some not, that helped define Elton as an artist, musician and man." Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and James Franco will play themselves alongside Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel in the upcoming apocalypse comedy 'Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse.' "It's going to be a pretty offensive vision of the apocalypse," Rogen told MTV last April. "And I want a lot of dead celebrity cameos. Because L.A. is full of famous people, I'd like all of the cameos to be them as corpses." [MTV]

'Boardwalk Empire' star Michael K. Williams almost grabbed the lead role in 'Django Unchained.' "The rumors of me being considered for the lead role in 'Django [Unchained]' is very true," he told the Shadow and Act blog over at indieWIRE. "I was in meetings with Quentin [Tarantino], QT as I call him. It came down to Jamie [Foxx] and I. Wow. What a person to lose to. It's not official yet but there's a lot of talk that there may be a role coming back 'round my way." The film, with Foxx as the titular revenge-seeking slave, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson and Christophe Waltz will hit theaters next Christmas. [Shadow and Act/indieWIRE]
