CATEGORIES Movie NewsBecause who better to co-write a script about coming of age in New York City during the '60s and '70s than the guy who wrote 'Star Trek: Nemesis,' Deadline is reporting that screenwriter John Logan is teaming up with punk rock icon Patti Smith to adapt her award-winning memoir 'Just Kids' for the big screen.
For those who haven't read the book, 'Just Kids' is about the relationship between Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe as they began discovering their respective careers in music and photography during the '60s and '70s in New York City. For those who don't know about Logan, he's the writer behind 'Gladiator,' 'The Last Samurai,' and the upcoming, yet-to-be-named James Bond movie, 'Bond 23,' among others.
Definitely not the likeliest screenwriting duo out there, but if it ends up being anywhere near as good as Smith's National Book Award-winning memoir, we'll be mighty happy.
So what do you think of the writing team behind 'Just Kids?'
