Shocker! Although she's featured prominently in the ads, there'll be no Sue Sylvester in 'Glee: The 3D Concert Movie.'
Creator Ryan Murphy dropped the news about cutting Emmy-winning star Jane Lynch's scenes at Saturday's press conference for the film, which opens August 12.
"We're doing another version in a couple of weeks on DVD," he said. "Jane will be on that. We'll do it that way."
Lynch did appear by video on all the tour stops and was at a concert that was filmed for the movie. In the trailers, she warns people not to see the movie: "People, save your money. This thing sucks," she says in typical Sue fashion.
There's also a a standalone Sue ad where she urges fans "Stop Believing," a riff on the show's anthemic cover of the Journey classic "Don't Stop Believin.'
The song list features a cover of My Chemical Romance's 'Sing,' originally covered by Sue Sylvester and New Directions in the Sue-centric 'Comeback' episode. Guess Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and co. will have plenty to sing about without their resident anti-glee coach.
Is it really a 'Glee' movie without Sue?
