CATEGORIES Movie NewsSarah Palin isn't the only one who has a lock on revising American history. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are developing a movie about Revolutionary War naval hero John Paul Jones -- with sea monsters, according to TheWrap.
Don't take this lightly -- Brian Helgeland has been hired to write the film, titled 'Here There Be Monsters,' and Robert Zemeckis is in talks to direct.
'Here There Be Monsters' is based on a concept by Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out since Helgeland is a font of seriousness (he won the Academy Award for 1997's 'L.A. Confidential' and wrote 'Mystic River' and 'Green Zone') while Zemeckis has a lighter take on things ('Romancing the Stone,' 'Back to the Future' and 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit').
Now that 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter' is being turned into a movie, what other historical mash ups can we expect? 'Lewis & Clark & Yeti'? 'Davy Crockett, Lycan'? 'Ben Franklin Meets Dr. Frankenstein'?
