Fresh off his role as an ornery cattle baron in 'Cowboys & Aliens,' Harrison Ford is lining up another western that could be dubbed 'Cowboys & Gangsters.'
The film is 'Black Hats,' in which he's attached to play a retired Wyatt Earp who faces off with a Prohibition-era Al Capone. Earp teams with Bat Masterson and the late Doc Holliday's son, who has crossed the rising mobster.
'Black Hats' is based on the novel by Max Allan Collins, who also penned the graphic novel 'Road to Perdition' that inspired the 2002 film.
'300' screenwriter Kurt Johnstad will adapt the novel for the screen.
Although the Capone angle is pure fiction, after hanging up his badge, Earp spent his later years as a private detective and movie consultant in Los Angeles, as explored in the 1988 film 'Sunset,' starring James Garner as the legendary gunslinger.
Other depictions of Earp include Kevin Costner in 1994's 'Wyatt Earp,' a mustachioed Kurt Russell in 'Tombstone,' Burt Lancaster in 'Gunfight at the OK Corral' and Henry Fonda in 'My Darling Clementine.'
Whom would you cast as Bat Masterson opposite Ford's Wyatt Earp?
