Speaking of Jackman, Variety reports that the Aussie actor is in talks to star in 'Les Miserables' for Universal. The talented singer-dancer starred in the Broadway musical 'The Boy From Oz' and has hosted the Tonys, turning in impressive footwork and vocal chops. Variety speculated that Jackman is most likely to play Jean Valjean. Tom Hooper is directing, fresh off his Oscar win for 'The King's Sppech.'
Liam Neeson is returning to the Batman fold by joining the cast of Christopher Nolan's 'The Dark Knight Rises,' and though Warner Bros. is tight-lipped, Neeson will most likely reprise the villainous role of Ra's al Ghul -- and has already filmed a scene in London. [Variety]
Chelsea Handler is in negotiations to join the cast of Paramount's 'Fun Size,' a teen comedy starring Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice. The late-night host and comedienne would play the mother of a sarcastic teenage girl (Justice) who is forced to take her little brother trick-or-treating on Halloween, then loses him and must find him before their mother finds out. Sean Penn may be returning behind the camera for a very high-profile outing, 'The Comedian,' about an insult comic in the vein of Don Rickles and Joan Rivers. And who should be playing the comic but Robert De Niro, who starred in Martin Scorsese's 1982 'The King of Comedy,' about the stalker of a famous stand-up comedian. Those oldie but goodie 'Expendables' have found their director: According to Deadline, after a long search, Simon West ('Con Air,' 'The Mechanic') has been tapped to helm the sequel to the 2010 surprise hit. 'The 'Expendables 2' cast most likely will include the original cast: Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and Jet Li.
