One-time romantic-comedy queen Meg Ryan hasn't been seen much on the big screen recently, but the 'When Harry Met Sally' star is now in talks for a new film and possibly to make her directorial debut.

In 'Long Time Gone,' Ryan would play the mother of a broken family that is healed when the girlfriend of the youngest son moves in and, in true Hollywood fashion, "changes their lives forever."

The film is based on the novel, 'Angel, Angel,' by April Stevens. 'Precious' producer Sarah Siegel-Magness will make this her first directorial effort. Production is set to start this fall.
Ryan is also set to make her directorial debut of her own with the ensemble drama 'Little Black Train.'

Her recent films include 'Serious Moonlight,' 'The Women,' 'Against the Ropes' and 'In the Cut.'
