Now here's a pairing that seems long overdue: superstars Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton.

Both co-starred in 'The Godfather, Part II' and shared the screen in 'Marvin's Room,' but they have never before played a couple.

Now, in 'Gently Down the Stream,' the Oscar-winning duo will play a long-divorced couple who pretend to still be married for the sake of their adopted son's wedding with, we assume, the usual comic complications.

Amanda Seyfried and Katherine Heigl will co-star in the indie comedy, to be written and directed by Justin Zackham ('The Bucket List'). Production is scheduled to start this July in Greenwich, Conn.

"I'm excited to be able to continue what we started with on 'The Bucket List' -- iconic actors in a funny, adult, character-driven story, albeit with a little more sex and bad behavior on everyone's part," said Zackham. "I'm honored to have such an amazing cast."

"Working with Diane and De Niro again will be great," said producer Avi Lerner. "Katherine and Amanda are young talented actors. It is good casting. Justin's script is well written, and he is the right choice to direct. It is going to be a warmhearted, funny film."

Overseas, the film will be retitled 'The Big Wedding.'
