Speaking of female action heroes, it seems we have a new badass babe on the block.

Zoe Saldana stars in 'Colombiana,' 'Transporter 3' director Olivier Megaton's tale of a young girl who witnesses her parents' murder in Colombia and grows up to become an assassin. The screenplay for the high-octane action-thriller comes courtesy of the writers of Liam Neeson's hit 'Taken,' Robert Mark Kamen and Luc Besson. Besson is, of course, the visionary French writer-director behind 'The Professional,' 'The Transporter' and 'The Fifth Element.'

While Saldana has starred in a few films since her breakout one-two punch of 'Star Trek' and 'Avatar,' the $40 million 'Colombiana' will certainly be the biggest test of the 33-year-old actress's star power.
