Armie Hammer ('The Social Network') has added the indie thriller '2:22' to his rather crowded slate, which includes the Clint Eastwood–directed biopic 'J. Edgar,' starring Leonardo DiCaprio as the famed FBI chief, and 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,' in which the handsome actor plays the prince opposite Lily Collins' Snow White and Julia Roberts' Evil Queen. Hammer is also reportedly the front-runner to star as the Lone Ranger opposite Johnny Depp in Disney's big-screen adaptation of TV series.
'2:22' tells the story of an air traffic controller (Hammer) who nearly causes a mid-air collision between two passenger planes when blinded by a mysterious light. As other bizarre things begin to happen around him, Hammer's character meets a girl he feels strangely connected to. Together they find many parallels between their situation and a double murder committed a generation ago.
Filming is set to begin this fall in Sydney, Australia. Lightstream Pictures will be selling distribution rights to the film later this month at the Cannes Film Festival.
