Oh, a wise guy, eh?
'24' star Chris Diamantopoulos
is in line to play Moe Howard in the Farrelly brothers' modern update of 'The Three Stooges' for Fox. According to Variety,
Diamantopoulos recently screen-tested for the coveted role and is expected to be offered the part shortly. The actor thus moves to the head of the class of stars rumored for the part that have included Johnny Knoxville, Hank Azaria, Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Jim Carrey.
The comedy -- starring Sean Hayes as Larry and Will Sasso as Curly and with Sofia Vergara in talks for a female lead -- will be divided into three 27-minute segments (mimicking the length of the original Three Stooges shorts) with much of the action set in the present day.
Shooting will begin soon in Atlanta for release sometime in 2012.
