Rosanna Arquette's feature directorial debut 'Hemlock Drive,' about a dying mother who enlists her three grown children to throw her a living funeral in an attempt to unite her family, is picking up steam. According to Variety, Susan Sarandon and 'Scream 4' stars David Arquette and Adam Brody are in negotiations to star in the film, which is scheduled to begin shooting in September in Louisiana. Rosanna Arquette's prior outings behind the camera were the documentaries 'Searching for Debra Winger' and 'All We Are Saying.'

Robert Zemeckis has had a decade-long hiatus from live-action films (his last was 2000's 'Cast Away'), concentrating on performance-capture and animated movies such as 'The Polar Express,' 'A Christmas Carol' and the recent dud 'Mars Needs Moms.' Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the director is in negotiations to helm 'Flight,' a drama for Paramount that has Denzel Washington loosely attached to star. The film centers on an alcoholic and drug-addicted pilot who becomes a hero when his airliner gets into trouble and he saves the plane and its passengers from disaster.

More casting on the 'The Hunger Games' front: Newcomer Willow Shields has nabbed the role of Prim, a pivotal role in the first book of Suzanne Collins' trilogy. She joins Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, a youthful gladiator in a post-Apocalyptic America, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, Liam Hemsworth as Gale, Jack Quaid, Leven Rambin, Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg. Elizabeth Banks is also in talks to join the Gary Ross-directed film in the role of Effie Trinket, Katniss' handler. [THR]
