Paging Johnny Depp: Get your 'Sweeney Todd' vocal coach back on the horn!
In 2004 Bob and Harvey Weinstein produced 'Finding Neverland,' a film about 'Peter Pan' author J.M. Barrie and the Llewelyn Davies family who were the inspiration for the children in the story. Now the brothers are developing its Broadway musical adaptation, the New York Observer reported.
The Observer article says that a note went out to would-be investors inviting them to a special reading of the musical, which features music by Scott Frankel and lyrics by Michael Korie, the team behind 'Grey Gardens.'
As we reported almost three years ago, the Weinsteins are also looking to turn other Miramax properties into stage gold. Also in development are adaptations of 'Chocolat,' 'Cinema Paradiso' and 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.'
Wait, what was that last one?!
That. Sounds. Awesome.
