As expected, John Travolta has finalized a deal to play John Gotti Sr., the New York mobster known alternately as the Teflon Don and the Dapper Don, in the independent film 'Gotti: Three Generations.' Nick Cassavetes will direct from a screenplay by Leo Rossi that focuses on the relationship between John Gotti Sr., the head of the Gambino crime family, and his son John Gotti Jr., who took over the family business for his father. Gotti Jr. has given his blessing to the project and plans to join the producers, Travolta and Cassavetes at a press conference on April 12 at the Sheraton New York Hotel. A deal no one can refuse. We're not quite sure what to make of 'Thor,' the Marvel Comic's hero that Kenneth Branagh is bringing to the big screen May 6. Is it camp? Serious? A little of both? Take a look at this clip, released Wednesday, that features Thor (Chris Hemsworth) just after he's fallen from Asgard to Earth, screaming at the heavens while a disbelieving Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård and Kat Denning try to figure things out. Hammered indeed!

With time running out on post-production on 'Green Lantern' (which opens June 17), the folks at Warner Bros. are fine-tuning their CGI-enhanced characters, and one in particular -- Tomar-Re, a key member of the Green Lantern Corps -- needed a particularly enunciated voice. So who better than to pick than 'The King's Speech's' Geoffrey Rush. Rush-as-Tomar-Re will help train Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) in the Martin Campbell-directed summer tentpole. [THR]

The 3D Juggernaut keep rolling along -- but now even low-budget horror filmmakers are getting in on the action. According to Variety, New Artists Alliance and Caliber Media Co. are teaming on the 3D thriller 'Static,' which will use a specialized camera rig for 3D filming on a limited budget. Milo Ventimiglia and Sarah Shahi have been cast as a young couple whose lives have been shattered by the loss of their child and who are further pushed to the edge when a young visitor shows up, bringing the supernatural with her. 'Static' will be the feature directorial debut of music video director Todd Levin. [Variety]
