How time flies! It seems like only yesterday when Molly Ringwald was blowing out 'Sixteen Candles,' flirting in detention with 'The Breakfast Club' and choosing between Duckie and Blaine in 'Pretty in Pink.' OK, maybe not yesterday -- but it certainly doesn't feel like two-and-a-half decades. Yet, here we are in 2011, on the day that the actress turns 43 years old.

Fittingly, the paperback version of Susannah Gora's excellent 'You Couldn't Ignore Me If You Tried: The Brat Pack, John Hughes and Their Impact on a Generation' will hit stores this coming Tuesday, celebrating not only Ringwald, but director John Hughes himself, who, coincidentally, had the same birthday. (He would have been 61 this year.)

In Ringwald's eulogy to the director in 2009, she noted, "In life, there is always that special person who shapes who you are, who helps to determine the person you become. Very often it's a teacher, a mentor of some kind. For me, that person was John Hughes."

Re-reading 10 Things You Never Knew About the Brat Pack and thinking about '80s-Ringwald mania, we thought we'd celebrate with some classic Ringwald scenes over the years. Check them out after the jump, and hit the comments to offer up your favorite Ringwald moments.
