
- Fans may not have gotten their wish of seeing Nathan Fillion play Green Lantern on the big screen, but the 'Serenity' star at least can now add a small-screen Green Lantern to his resume. He'll be voicing the hero in the animated film 'Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.'
- Meryl Streep will be re-teaming with 'The Devil Wears Prada' director David Frankel on 'Great Hope Springs,' a comedy about a married couple who undergo "an intense counseling weekend."
- Screenwriter/director Dean DeBlois tells THR that 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' will tell the story of Hiccup's ascension to leader of his Viking clan and that the film will be leaving the island setting of the first film, "They have the entire Northern hemisphere within their grasp."
- Famke Janssen will join Gemma Arterton and Jeremy Renner in the fantasy film 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.'
- Mike Newell is set to direct a new retelling of the classic Charles Dickens novel 'Great Expectations,' which is being prepared for a release next year alongside a number of other Dickens-related events. (2012 will mark Dickens' 200th birthday.)
- A new trailer is out for director Robin Hardy's indirect sequel to 'The Wicker Man,' titled 'The Wicker Tree' and starring the original film's Christopher Lee:
- Anyone dying to see 'Jeepers Creepers 3' will have to wait a little bit longer; series director Victor Salva will first be directing 'Rosewood Lane,' about a town's homicidal paperboy.
- Shawn Levy will produce a big-screen animated adaptation of the hit children's book series, 'Mr. Men.'
- Legal online movie downloads surpassed download numbers for TV shows recently, with purchase rates jumping some 40 percent in 2010.
