--Jeffrey Dean Morgan will star in 'Dibbuk Box,' about a guy whose daughter comes into box that "was built to contain a dibbuk -- a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host." Sam Raimi will produce, with Danish director Ole Bornedal onboard to helm the horror film, which is based on a true story.

-- It's now been confirmed that Russell Crowe will co-star in RZA's new martial-arts film, 'The Man with the Iron Fists,' about a blacksmith who helps make weapons for a small village in feudal China that must defend themselves from an attack. RZA, one of the founders of The Wu Tang Clan will direct off a script written by him and Eli Roth.

-- Edgar Wright has revealed that he's once again back writing a new draft of 'Ant-Man,' telling the LA Times that "This one's not about about the urgency of summer tentpoles and things going into production without a script. "It's slightly different than that. "



-- The first official images of Jim Carrey in 'Mr. Popper's Penguins' have arrived online, featuring Carrey and -- you guessed it! -- penguins. Based on the children's book, Carrey stars in this updated version as a high-powered real-estate developer who writes a fan letter to an explorer regarding the North and South Poles, and receives a penguin back in response. He eventually collects a whole group of penguins and does funny things with them, we presume.

-- The Force is strong with this cookie jar.



-- Frances McDormand will voice the villain in 'Madagascar 3.' The Hollywood Reporter says she'll play "a calculating and goal-oriented animal control officer who leads her team to capture the animals."

-- No more 'Charlie's Angels' movies to look forward to, but there is a new TV show ramping up.

-- Shane Black ('Lethal Weapon,' 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang') has been brought on to direct an English-language, live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga 'Death Note,' about a person named Light who comes in contact with a notebook that gives them the power to kill anyone just by writing their name down inside it. -- More alien invasion films are on the way, this time courtesy of 'District 9' producer Bill Block, who's working a film called 'Alien Sleeper Cell,' which is said to be a cross between an alien invasion film and 'The Bourne Identity.'

-- And finally, check out this fun little short called 'Repeat Viewings,' which, according to the filmmaker (who created this for a senior thesis project), is about "about a man distant future rife coping with a peculiar breed of mid-1990's nostalgia and useful pets." [via Boing Boing]
