Now that MGM and Warner Bros. somehow found a way to get started on those two 'Hobbit' movies despite the fact that MGM is still dealing with a mountain of financial issues, folks are probably wondering what's up with MGM's other giant ongoing franchise: James Bond. News has been scarce as of late, with some reports claiming pre-production was quietly underway and that Sam Mendes was still attached to direct, with a release date of November 2012 possible. Today, it's been confirmed that those rumors are indeed true, and production is ready to proceed with Mendes at the helm and a November 9th, 2012 release date.
Daniel Craig will return to star as James Bond off a screenplay written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and John Logan. Currently there is no word on where Bond or the storyline will go for this 23rd James Bond installment, though we imagine it will further delve into the mysterious "Quantum" organization that terrorized him and the women he's loved throughout the previous two films, 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace'.
Where would you like to see Bond travel next?
