  • Dimension Films has acquired distribution rights to 'The Home,' an old folks' home-set horror movie starring Ed Asner, Louis Gossett Jr., Louise Fletcher and Cloris Leachman. Pre-production began this week on the Kristoffer Aaron Morgan-directed film, which will go in front of cameras next month in Austin, TX. Pictured above is a piece of WETA-designed concept art for the film.

  • After directorship passing back and forth between the two, it looks like the big screen adaptation of sci-fi novel 'Cloud Atlas' will be directed by Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis. That's according to Natalie Portman, at least, who will have some kind of role in the film since she's the one who first introduced all of the parties to David Mitchell's novel.

  • Sam Rockwell has committed to an undisclosed role in 'Cogan's Trade' alongside Brad Pitt, which will reunited both actors with 'Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' director Andrew Dominik.

  • George Clooney is looking to star in a Christopher McQuarrie and Nathan Alexander-scripted adaptation of the bestseller 'The Monster of Florence.' Clooney will play author Douglas Preston in this fact based thriller about what happened when Preston tried to investigate a series of murders outside of Florence.

  • A 'Step Brothers' rap album produced by Mos Def is in the works. Yes, you just read that sentence.

  • The Weinstein Company has acquired a 25% stake in Starz Media and have also signed a new deal with Starz' distribution arm, Anchor Bay, to release up to 20 of TWC's titles per year.

  • The first three 'Shrek' movies are all set to undergo 3D conversions. Thankfully this will be just for a Blu-ray release and not for theaters.

  • The quality isn't grand, but here's the charming first trailer for 'Henry's Crime,' starring Keanu Reeves, James Caan and Vera Farmiga:

  • Denise Richards makes her return to sex-fueled movies in this low-budget comedy about older women who want to be with younger men (aka cougars). The trailer for 'Cougars, Inc.', apparently due out this summer, has made its way online, and we're not really sure whether that's a good thing. (Warning: This trailer is NSFW and contains brief nudity)

  • Finally, while sex is still on the mind, here's a totally SFW trailer for the latest superhero porn parody, 'Superman XXX: A Porn Parody'. (Always nice to see General Zod returning to create more chaos, this time with optional clothing.)
