3D may have taken off in a very big (and profitable) way this year, but so far "Smell-O-Vision" hasn't exactly caught on. One Norweigian film called 'Kurt Josef Wagle And The Legend of the Fjord Witch' utilized it in 2010 by handing out scratch and sniff cards to audience members, which is also what John Waters did for a 1982 "Odorama" version of his film 'Polyester', but aside from gimmicky smells popping up at various amusement park shows across the country, filmmakers haven't exactly warmed up to the idea of using "Smell-O-Vision" to help give audience members a more noses-on moviegoing experience.

Ah, but that's where schlock director Charles Band comes in. He's just announced that his next film, 'Evil Bong 3-D: The Wrath Of Bong', will arrive in theaters (this April 20th, natch) with what he calls "Sniff-O-Rama", which, like our previous examples, includes handing the audience scratch and sniff cards prior to screening the film. Just what those cards will smell like is anyone's guess (not really, but we'll go with it), and the experience will only be heightened with the additional inclusion of 3D.

Band says, "Audiences go to 3-D movies for one reason; to have things thrown at them, to be thrilled, to duck and to reach out to touch things, and we're not going to let them down". "EVIL BONG 3-D: THE WRATH OF BONG" will feature "the record amount of naked alien beauties, boobies, and reefer hits to ever be presented in 3-D".

By now you probably want to know what sort of exciting new adventures are in store for us in this third installment of the HIGHly enjoyable 'Evil Bong' series. We could explain the plot to you using our own words, but the official synopsis is so much better:

"In "EVIL BONG 3-D: THE WRATH OF BONG" an evil alien bong crashes on earth. Its intent; world domination. Our stoner heroes are transported to the alien bong home world and held captive by nude alien beauties. Their only hope to escape and save planet earth; EBee, the original Evil Bong. The original whacked out cast of stoners from EVIL BONG 1 + 2 returns."

No word yet on where you'll be able to attend a screening of 'Evil Bong 3-D', except that Band will be launching a rolling roadshow by traveling to different cities with the film, turning each screening into its own 'Rocky Horror'-like production, complete with contests, celebrity appearances (look out Brad Pitt!), audience participation, a live stage show and collectibles in the lobby (ya know, something for grandma).
