Can't wait a minute longer for 'The Hunger Games' movie? Well, there's nothing we can do about that, but we do have something that might hold you over for a bit – or just make you even more anxious for the film. A video called "Hunger Games: Katniss & Rue" recently popped up on YouTube (watch it after the jump) that depicts one of the most heart wrenching scenes from the book. It is a bit of a spoiler, so if you've yet to read the book or just don't want to spoil the film, you might want to take a pass.

For those of you unfamiliar with the story, 'The Hunger Games' is the story of Katniss Everdeen, a 16-year-old girl from District 12 in the country of Panem. Katniss is one of two District 12 kids who are randomly selected to compete in the Hunger Games, a televised event during which one boy and one girl from each of the country's 12 districts must fight until just one survives. This video depicts a scene well into the games during which Katniss sings to a friend and fellow contestant as she passes away.

The video has its flaws, specifically Katniss' super fake hair, but it is extremely impressive. Keep in mind, this isn't exactly a fan-made video; it was put together by Mainstay Productions, a professional production company that simply opted to make the video for the actors they feel are talented enough to be part of the Lionsgate production. I don't know if I'd go that far, but the company sure does get the look and tone of the film right. The chase sequence at the start is downright wicked and the moment between Rue and Katniss is impressively close to what I imagined while reading the book. If the actual film turns out to be anything like this clip, we've got one heck of an adaptation to look forward to.

Check out the clip below.

Think director Gary Ross should consult with the folks at Mainstay before starting work on his production?
