- Timur Bekmambetov is also apparently considering getting involved with a second space-set thriller for 20th Century Fox. The project is current without title or synopsis, but it's being written by Alex Litvak and Mike Finch ('Predators'), whose pitch to Fox was strong enough to get the studio to throw a high six-figures at the duo to commit to the screenplay.

- Bret Easton Ellis has scripted an adaptation of Michael Hornberg's novel 'Downers Grove' for director Nelson McCormick ('Prom Night'). Hayden Panettiere and Nikki Reed will star in the film about a high school where one member of the senior class dies every year.

- TV veterans Katee Sackhoff, Chad Michael Murray, Abigail Spencer and Emily Alyn Lind have all been cast in Gold Circle's 'The Haunting in Georgia.' Written by David Coggeshall and directed by Tom Elkins, 'Georgia' is a follow-up to 'The Haunting in Connecticut' in spirit only: It's another dramatization of a "true story" about a family who moves into a haunted house. Not long ago, Gold Circle also hired Sean Hood to write 'The Haunting in New York' as the third film in the franchise.

- Martial arts fans rejoice! Magnet Releasing has picked up US distribution rights to the insane-looking 'Bangkok Knockout.' Here is a slightly longer, higher quality version of the trailer we posted last week:



- Leavesden Studio in London is set to expand its facilities over the next two years. Once the refurb is finished, Leavesden will not only offer a 'Harry Potter' tour to the public of the sets used for filming across all eight of the films, but on the production end of things, it will retain a third of all production stages in the UK.

- David Duchovny insists that an 'X-Files 3' is still going to happen and that it will succeed where the second film failed by getting back to the government conspiracy roots of the TV show.

- Oren Peli, of the original 'Paranormal Activity,' will make a break from found-footage films to direct 'Eliza Graves,' a modernization of Poe's short story about an insane asylum that is taken over by the inmates right as a med school graduate arrives to start his new job.

-Kyra Sedgwick has joined 'Man On a Ledge,' the Sam Worthington-led drama about a man who threatens to leap off of a Manhattan high rise. She joins Elizabeth Banks, Ed Harris, Jamie Bell, Anthony Mackie and Ed Burns.

- After having stalled at Disney, Randall Wallace's 'Love and Honor' is currently courting new financiers at the American Film Market. Channing Tatum is set to be the male lead in the film about Catherine the Great. The role of Catherine is up in the air, though Anne Hathaway has been officially offered a role as one of her peons.
