- Paramount have set aside June 10, 2011 as the release date for J.J. Abrams' new sci-fi flick, 'Super 8.'

- Ryan Kwanten, best recognized as Jason Stackhouse from 'True Blood,' will play Charles Manson in the upcoming film 'The Family.' Additionally, Kwanten is also set to star in 'The Twenty-Something Survival Guide' and 'The G Strategy.'

- Hasbro is looking to follow-up Peter Berg's 'Battleship' movie with 'Ouija.' They're currently vetting a trio of directors to helm the supernatural flick: Pierre Morel ('Taken'), Sylvain White ('The Losers') and Scott Stewart ('Priest'). Platinum Dunes will be co-producing the teen-targeted film.

- The film is untitled and currently has no logline, but Judd Apatow's next comedy for Universal is now dated for a June 1, 2012 release.

- Stephen Moyer, Sam Neil and Claire Forlani all star in an apocalyptic ice age movie called, quite menacingly, 'Ice.' If this doesn't go straight to the Syfy channel, I will eat my hat. Check out the remarkably unremarkable trailer for it below:



- Mark Canton, who produced both '300' and 'Land of the Dead,' will be shepherding an adaptation of Ryan Brown's football zombie novel 'Play Dead.' In addition to a feature film version, Canton and co. hope to turn the story into both a comic series and a video game.

- Tom Cruise let slip that the next 'Mission: Impossible' movie will be titled 'Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol.'

- 'Con Air' director Simon West is now attached to direct David Guggenheim's script 'Medallion' about a father who is trying to find his kidnapped daughter in the heart of NYC. McG is producing.

- 'Dream Home' a thriller from Hong Kong about a woman who goes crazy after learning she can't afford her dream home has been picked up by IFC Films as part of their IFC Midnight program.

- The 'Saw 3D' marketing campaign is showing some unfortunate similarities to a 3-year old ad campaign for the PS3.
