In 'The Social Network,' Mark Zuckerberg agrees to build HarvardConnection.com, a social networking site, for Harvard seniors Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss and Divya Narendra. After he stalls and then launches his own social networking site, the Winklevoss twins and Narendra take Zuckerberg to court, charging that he stole their idea.
As you watch the film, you might think, wow -- there are handsome identical twin actors out there? And they're not named Jason and Jeremy London?
But here's the trick. While the Winklevoss twins do exist, and did sue Zuckerberg for copyright infringement -- they even row crew, and represented the U.S. in the Beijing Olympics -- they were not played by identical twin actors in the movie. Both Cameron and Tyler were played by actor Armie Hammer (great-grandson of oil tycoon Armand Hammer); his face was superimposed on both bodies, with Josh Pence doing occasional body-double work.
We knew that whole "handsome identical twin actors" thing was too good to be true.
