Put your gloves on and get ready for a fight because the trailer for 'The Fighter' has finally hit. Before we get to boxing action, however, let's go over the back story. This sports drama sees David O. Russell reuniting with Mark Wahlberg for the story of "Irish" Micky Ward, a professional boxer and real-life Rocky from Lowell, Massachusetts. Trained by his troubled half-brother Dicky (Christian Bale), Micky is a success story who bounced back from a string of defeats to win the Lightweight and Light Welterweight titles. But this is a sports drama, so it's about a lot more than gloved matches and knock-outs. Micky gets a little romance (from Amy Adams, no less), while Dickie struggles with crime and drugs, which interferes with Micky's rise to sporting fame.

Now, the trailer has debuted on Apple, and you can see the Irish fighting goodness for yourself. First, the good things: We're seeing Wahlberg reunite with Russell in what seems to be a rough 5-year working cycle. The pair first came together in the highly entertaining 1999 Gulf War film 'Three Kings,' before reuniting again for the wildly insane 'I Heart Huckabees' in 2004. To sweeten the pot, we've also got Christian Bale morphing into Micky's ne'er-do-well brother, shrugging off the slick, Bruce Wayne appearance and looking downright perfect as Dicky, as well as Amy Adams being far more dramatic than we've seen her recently as Micky's love interest, Charlene. Added bonus: She even gets to fight a bit herself.

However, though Russell has brought out a lot of Wahlberg magic in the past, I'm not so sure he'll hold up against the talents of his co-stars (a cast rounded out with Melissa Leo). It's Wahlberg from any number of past roles. You just might be reminded of 'Huckabees' when Micky talks to his daughter in front of their home (though this time he isn't in a confused, existential haze), or think back to his Marky Mark days when he flexes while getting weighed.
