'Saw' director James Wan teamed back up with writing pal Leigh Whannell and the producers of 'Paranormal Activity' for the haunted house flick, 'Insidious'. The film was met with rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness last night. According to Deadline negotiations for distribution began immediately and Sony has closed the deal.

No word on when a theatrical release is to be expected, but reports indicate a 7-figure deal has been set.

The film which stars Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, and Patrick Wilson revolves around a family who takes possession of an old house, which may be the home of a few vengeful spirits. Their son falls into a coma after an accident, and only tragedy continues to plague the family from then on an accident results in one of their sons falling into a coma.
