Drake Doremus' Douchebag is set to open in theaters on October 1st -- and to make sure you're up to speed on this quirky indie comedy, we're bringing you a look at the film's newest full trailer.
A story of estranged brothers, Douchebag follows Sam (Andrew Dickler) and Tom (Ben York Jones) as they seek out Tom's fifth grade girlfriend in the days leading up to Sam's wedding. What starts as a quest to find Tom's one true love soon becomes more about uber-douchey Sam as he uses the trip as an excuse to sow the last of his wild oats.
Our own Erik Davis wrote a review of the film after seeing it at Sundance this past January and felt that Douchebag " is short -- and maybe a little too short -- but it definitely packs a punch and creeps into those personal places you might not want it to explore." He also found it refreshing that Sam isn't presented as an over-the-top schmuck, but instead just a jerky self-absorbed guy who pretty much everyone knows from personal experience. The trailer seems to bear this out – Sam reminded me of more than a few people I've met over the years, although I might not have called them "douchebags", exactly.
