After everything Megan Fox has gone through in the past few months -- from Jennifer's Body failing at the box office to Fox's very public battle with director Michael Bay to her ditching Transformers 3 -- it's kind of funny to see the gal back up on the big screen playing, of all things, an angel. Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend, Passion Play stars Mickey Rourke and Megan Fox as one of the odder on-screen duos we've seen this year, though it's almost as if they were destined to be together at this point in each of their careers -- both fighting (and conquering) the demons of their past in order to get to a point where they can just let their work speak for itself.
In Passion Play, Rourke plays a down-on-his-luck trumpet player who seeks redemption from an angel who's being paraded around like a circus freak by a local gangster named Happy Shannon, played by -- and here's where we sell you on this film -- Bill Murray. Entertainment Tonight premiered the first clip from the film, which will be seeking distribution in Toronto, and it looks to show the first meeting between Rourke and Fox's characters. She spreads her wings for him from behind a glass wall, and, not surprisingly, he likes what he sees. Watch the whole thing play out after the jump, and we'll have a review of the film this weekend.
What do you think about this one? Is there still room for Fox to impress us in a small, quieter film? Will this be it?
