But that comes in Part Two, and for now we have Part One, scheduled to hit screens on November 19, 2010. With only a couple months to go, the marketing heat is on, and the calm before the storm is over. We've had our rest full of youthful lust and silliness. Now it's time for the final fight. Checking out the first television spot for the film, I'm beginning to wonder if Warner Bros. will whip up a marketing tie in for energy drinks or something, because this affair looks exhausting.
The TV spot, which you can watch below, is only 29 seconds long, but it's got 11 shots of fear, apprehension, and all the emotions that bubble up when you're just a kid and have to fight a bad guy who even skilled adults cannot stop. Basically, if you see Harry, Ron, or Hermione on screen, they're looking at something with shock or fright, or trying to round up the courage and resolve to do what needs to be done. These guys get their butts kicked, and if a 30-second spot can be this exhausting, just imagine what's in store for us over a couple of hours.
Now I'm not sure which I'm more intrigued about -- seeing JK Rowling's final vision come to life, or seeing how director David Yates tackles a dark tale that doesn't have the happy, emotional release we've grown accustomed to ... at least not until Part Two hits next July.
